Programme Highlight:
Years ago, cremation systems had been an untouchable, mysterious black box business in Hong Kong resulting in energy wastage and poorly controlled flue gas emissions cum fugitive odours, no matter how well the regulations were written. Not anymore when the industry was revolutionised through the introduction of novel combustion technologies coupled with new heat reclaim measures and scientific Heat & Mass Balance methodologies.
In this seminar, the speakers will share with the audience operating principles and construction of proper cremation systems, combustion control methodologies, flue gas cleaning techniques and energy efficiency measures. They will also evaluate the combustion process from a Heat & Mass perspective, and discuss recent trends of emission limits.
Speakers:
K.F. Chan, CEng, FASHRAE, CCBM
KF has over 30 years’ experience on both ends of the temperature scale. In heating applications, his experience includes boilers, incineration, chimneys, and waste heat electricity generation. KF extends his passion in charity and education, such as services as a Specialist in the HKCAAVQ and teaching as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong.
Max Cheung, BEng, MSc, CEM, CCBC
Max has over 10 years’ experience on both ends of the temperature scale. In heating applications, he has worked on high temperature incineration, chimneys and recovery of low temperature waste heat for electricity generation. He has recently dwelt into energy management including initiatives in combustion efficiency.
