Details
Data: 29 March 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Registration : 7:45 a.m., assembly & dismissal at Kowloon Tong Station)
Venue: Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, Daya Bay, Guangdong, China

Programme Highlights
Commissioned in 1994, Daya Bay is the Mainland's first commercial nuclear power station and also one of the earliest, largest and most successful joint venture projects since the reform and opening up of the Mainland. The station comprises 2 x 984MW pressurised water reactor (PWR) generating units and produces around 15 billion kWh of electricity per year.

To ensure that more non-carbon and cost-competitive energy is provided to Hong Kong, Daya Bay increases its electricity supply to Hong Kong from 70% to around 80% of its output starting from late 2014. Since its operation in 1994, Daya Bay has been supplying safe and reliable non-carbon energy to Hong Kong, meeting around a quarter of the city’s electricity needs.

In this technical visit, the members will be guided to experience the following:
1. visiting Daya Bay Nuclear Power Science and Technology Museum, with display models of reactor, fuel assemblies and Daya Bay site.
2. a briefing on the nuclear power generation and safe operation of Daya Bay.
3. visiting Daya Bay Port.
