Programme Highlight:
This seminar will provide an overview of sustainable features successfully implemented in an existing data center in Hong Kong, showcasing practical applications that contribute to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Participants will gain valuable insights into the retro-commissioning of air-side air conditioning systems, exploring best practices for optimizing airflow and reducing energy consumption. With a focus on real case sharing, our expert speakers from Equinix Hong Kong Limited (Equinix), who work at the world’s digital infrastructure company in Hong Kong, will discuss the challenges encountered and the solutions devised to promote sustainable operations in data centers. This seminar is ideal for operations managers, engineers, and sustainability advocates looking to enhance their knowledge and implement effective strategies in their own data centers.
Speakers:
1. Ir Wai-ho Leung - Manager, IBX Critical Facilities, Equinix Hong Kong Limited
Wai-ho joined Equinix Hong Kong Limited as Manager in Data Center IBX Operation team in 2019. He has participated in a variety of sustainable design and energy saving projects in Equinix including chiller plant AI optimization control, airflow management best practices, UPS and CRAC units improvement projects etc. He has worked as sustainability consultant for 13 years since 2016, specializing in sustainable MEP system design and integrated system optimization. He also works on microclimate & Air Ventilation Assessment studies, sustainable building design, testing and commissioning works, Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis, LEED and BEAM Plus assessment and sustainable system design works.
2. Mr. Tyr Poon - Senior Mechanical Engineer, Equinix Hong Kong Limited
Tyr joined Equinix since 2015, as a facility engineer responsible for managing and monitoring the site operation, maintenance work, incident handling, pre-sales review and project enhancement work. He developed a pre-sales review guideline and consolidated at high power density solution to improve operations effectiveness. He has been actively participating in the retro-commissioning (RCx) activities to promote energy saving opportunities to the wider industry.
3. Mr. Victor Kwan - Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer, Equinix Hong Kong Limited
Victor has been with Equinix Hong Kong Limited since 2017. He initially worked as an Engineering Trainee and was involved in several data center commissioning projects and data center facility operations. Currently, Victor serves as a Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer, primarily focusing on mechanical system energy-saving projects and data analysis. He is passionate about using data analytics to enhance energy efficiency and IBX operations.

An electronic copy of CPD attendance certificate (1-hour) will be issued to the participants with over 80% attendance within one month after the seminar by email. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify and terminate those non-properly registered participants.
